Umm…but I already paid for it...
Making the app free and then offering an in-app for the full experience is fine for new customers. However, I already paid for this. How is it possible that you guys didn’t think about all the people that had already purchased the app? This free version should’ve been a new app and you could’ve simply left the version I already paid for alone. New features are great and you should definitely charge a fair price for them. You should not, however, be taking features away from people that already paid.
The thing that really shocks me about this is that I know the developers (not personally, of course, but rather their online personalities) and I know they’re pretty smart cookies so I can’t understand how they messed this up.
This is a mistake, right? You couldn’t have meant to do this? Please fix it.
